What's On

Some of our favourite activities at your local library!

Victoria Point Lakeside’s best hidden gem! Our Library has so many services and classes that you may not be aware of! Whether you are after a parent’s group for you and your children or a workshop they have a variety of free classes for everyone.

For new parents ‘Baby Time’ is a fun session that helps you meet other parents and babies. These sessions are designed to nurture your baby’s pre-literacy, communication, language, and social skills using books, singing, clapping, and dancing. ‘Toddler Time’ is designed for children 0-3 years old where they learn action rhymes and songs which will also help their pre-literacy skills. ‘Children Time’ is designed for children ages 3-5, covering early literacy skills through to alphabet, counting colour, singing, and discovery through play. These sessions are designed not only for children to learn and meet others their age, but also for parents to meet others going through similar experiences. Baby, Toddler and Children time are generally held every Wednesday, but check online for session times and to secure your spot.

Story Dogs is another one of the regular activities that are held at Redland libraries. Story Dogs help children gain confidence and practise their reading skills in a friendly environment. If your child is a shy reader, let them share stories with a trained Story Dog to watch them come out of their shell!

These are just some of the free classes available at Victoria Point Library. They also regularly hold craft workshops, photography workshops, author readings, and book clubs for the community to be a part of. As numbers for each session are limited bookings are essential, so be sure to secure your spot.
